Hey, Dougie. DeeDee and Pappa really enjoyed babysitting for you on Sunday evening. Your mommy had to go to a school function and your daddy was driving back from his visit to Pammie and Granddaddy. Daddy came by here on his way home and you and Daddy had a great time playing on the floor. Your current favorite toy is an empty oatmeal box that Pappa gave you to play with.DeeDee babysat for you yesterday. We had a great day. You had a good time "visiting" with yourself in the mirror...you haven't quite figured out that the other baby you see in the mirror is actually YOU. DeeDee loved watching you play with that other baby!!
You had your six-month check up yesterday afternoon and DeeDee got to come along and meet your pediatrician. You weighed 18lbs 12 oz and were 27.75" long. What a big boy!! Dr. Taylor said that it was time for you to start eating solid food. You can look forward to cereal, fruits and vegetables...I'm sure that you will be gobbling down lots of new things very soon. The doctor said that you are doing GREAT and that your two top teeth are going to pop through any day now.
You are with Great Grandma and Ally today. DeeDee is coming over to see you. You actually "talked" to me on the phone just a minute ago. I have been putting the phone to your ear whenever your mommy calls me and you would smile, but never "talk". This morning when Aunt Mary put the phone to your ear and I talked to you, you "talked" back!! I loved hearing your little voice on the telephone...you'll be chatting away to everyone before we know it.
